This page is menu is fairly self explanatory. Configuration options are as follows:
- User Name: If you want to e-mail a specific user.
- E-mail to all Users: A check box to mail all users.
- Reply address: The address that the e-mail will come from, i.e. webmaster@yoursite.com.
- Send Newsletter: Whether you want to make this e-mail a newsletter or not.
- HTML Formatted: Do you want HTML codes to be used or just plain text
- Subject: The subject of the e-mail.
- Message: The main body of the e-mail.
- Send: Submit.
- Preview: Review the message without sending.
To give you an idea about the message that a user might receive, we show you a screenshot of a message that was sent by the site of MasterE some time ago.
When you have chosen to send a newsletter, the system creates a news bulletin with all the recent news items that are posted on you board. The following screenshot shows the preview of a news letter with HTML formatting.
You can setup and maintain the settings for the Header and style sheet in an extra page that you can reach by clicking the link to HTML Options. The following page is shown.
The same newsletter but that as plain text. Note that HTML-tags like anchors that are used in the news items may still be visible in the plain text version.
Finally we have a screenshot of a message that is not a newsletter.
You should experiment with all the settings, sending the messages to yourself to get used to the possibilities.
Tip
You might even want to send a newsletter and write a message in the same session.
